My technical description includes all the required genre elements. The cover page is formatted in APA and is correctly labed and titled. The table of contents contain all of the subsections clearly in order. The definition clearly defines what the topic is and gives details of what it is exactly. The overview shows the big picture, or the mechanism, explaining to the reader what makes the object a defining object. The compenents each have a sub section ordered in a top to bottom formation. The explanation shows how these compenents work together and fufill its function while being written in a way anyone can understand the mechanism. Each component has an accompioning visual to show the reader what exactly they are reading about. A visual is also givin at the end where I give a recommendation on a product for the reader. The conclusion wraps up everything in a short summary while also showing options for the product with my personal opinion included. The use of both in-text and at the end citations were incorperated in the technical description as well. Most of the technical description is written in formal tone and language. When discussing the actual item and its purpose, the language is formal and exact. During the conclusion towards the end is where this format changes. The tone becomes more familiar when talking about my recommendation on a product and my opinion. This is because I wanted the reader to feel like I myself was talking to them and they weren’t just reading a report. The clarity of writing remains constant throughout as the language is specifically chosen to not confuse the reader about any mechanism or design of the product. For the revisision, the first draft was done very quickly and didn’t even have a proper conclusion or a work cited. The final draft had more visuals add with a change in the conclusion and the addition of sitations. The only point of weakness I see in my work is my timeliness of submission. The first draft was submitted about 6 hours late and this self reflection itself is about half an hour late. My technical description was strong but because of punctuality, I’m giving myself a 90.
